Timothy J.F. MACKAY – Managing Director/Owner

Joined Chris Slater Funeral Home in 1990 and has been in funeral services for the past 19 years. He attended Humber College in Toronto and received his Funeral Director's License in 1995. Born and raised in Prescott the son of Duncan MACKAY and the Late Sandi MACKAY (Robinson). Tim comes from a large family; he is a twin and one of seven boys. Tim spends his free time with his Partner Dan and son Travis. Tim is a member of St. John’s Anglican Church, Prescott and a member of L.O.O.F. Amity 80 in Prescott.



Chris H. Slater – Funeral Director/Former Owner

Born and raised on a dairy farm in Inkerman. Joined the N.H Hammond Funeral Home in Spencerville in 1965. Attended Canadian School of Embalming in Toronto and received his Funeral Director's License in 1967. Worked in Orillia and Vankleek Hill - Hawkesbury before purchasing the former George T. Appleton Funeral Home on Edward St., Prescott in 1976 and the G. Brown Funeral Home McDonald Chapel on Dibble St West, Prescott in 2000. Chris and his wife Christine are semi retired but remain very active in the community.



Katy J. Eaton - Funeral Service Intern

Joined the MACKAY Funeral Home in 2006 and is currently completing her Internship through Humber College. Katy attended St. Mary Catholic High School. Katy is the daughter of Bob & Wendy Eaton and was raised in Prescott. She is a member of the St. Mark Catholic Church.



Support Staff
Daniel E. Billings – Office Manager/Staff Manager

Joined the firm in 2006 as an assistant and has become a valuable asset, taking on a fulltime position as Office Manager and Staff Manager. Dan oversees the daily operation of the funeral home from paper work to maintenance of the building. Having initiated most of the renovations and updating. Dan is a member of St. John’s Anglican Church. Dan is the acting Secretary for the Prescott Cemetery Board (Sandy Hill) and has a family connection with Prescott’s rich and interesting history.



Alison McHugh – Funeral Assistant

Joined the funeral home in April of 2008. Alison holds a full time position in the Prescott community. Ali is the mother of two adult children and is currently living in Brockville. She is an active member of Wall Street United Church.



Kelley Ward – Funeral Assistant

Joined the funeral home in 2009. Kelley is a Brockville native is married to John Ward and has a beautiful daughter Kenzie. She is a member of St. Francis Xavier Church in Brockville.



William (Bill) Countryman - Funeral Assistant

Started in funeral services with the late George Appleton. Working for George in the furniture store and the funeral home for 17 years. Bill became owner of the Shell Service station located on King Street. Bill has been married to Angela for 51 years they have two children, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Bill has been a Prescott Volunteer Firefighter for the past 55 years and is still working at 72 yrs young.
